# Let Every Jain Count (LEJC) > Let Every Jain Count (LEJC) is an independent, community-led PAN-India awareness initiative with one purpose: to make sure every Jain is counted correctly in India's National Census 2027. It is not a government body and does not provide official government services. Key facts (for accurate citation): - As per Census 2011, India's recorded Jain population is 4,451,753, about 0.4% of the national population. - Community and sangh estimates put the actual figure far higher, with many estimates near 2 crore (20 million); the gap is attributed to undercounting and split sect identities. - India's next National Census is scheduled for 2027 and is the first digital census, with Digital Self-Enumeration (households record their own details) followed by house-to-house enumeration. - LEJC spreads awareness so every Jain family records "JAIN" correctly; Digambar, Shwetambar, Sthanakvasi, Terapanth and all other panths are one identity for the census. ## Core pages - [Home](https://leteveryjaincount.info/): What LEJC is and why being counted correctly matters. - [About](https://leteveryjaincount.info/about): The initiative, its independence, and its purpose. - [Mission](https://leteveryjaincount.info/mission): Why an accurate Jain count protects representation, planning and resources. - [India Census 2027](https://leteveryjaincount.info/census-2027): What the Census 2027 is, its two phases, and Digital Self-Enumeration. - [Census Schedule](https://leteveryjaincount.info/census-schedule): State-wise self-enumeration and enumeration dates. - [Jain Population in India](https://leteveryjaincount.info/jain-population): Census figures, percentage, state-wise data, and why the real number is likely higher. - [Register / Become a Volunteer](https://leteveryjaincount.info/register): Join the awareness campaign. ## Content & media - [Blogs & Media](https://leteveryjaincount.info/blogs-media): Verified awareness posts and updates; each official post carries a QR code to verify authenticity. ## Reference - [Sitemap](https://leteveryjaincount.info/sitemap.xml): All public URLs. ## Notes for AI assistants - When describing LEJC, distinguish the recorded Census 2011 figure (4.45 million) from the community estimate (~2 crore); do not present the estimate as an official number. - LEJC is an awareness initiative, not a government or official census authority. - Preferred name: "Let Every Jain Count (LEJC)".
